First Capital Mortgage Inc. is licensed to lend anywhere in California, and most of the process happens online and by phone. But a few parts of the state are personal for me, and these pages tell you why, along with what financing actually looks like there.

• The West Side of the Valley: Patterson, Crows Landing, Gustine, Newman, Santa Nella, and Los Banos, where I went to school.
